I started The RD Duncan Institute for Professional Development, LLC in August 2013 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. My initial goal was to reach out to pastors and church leaders to help their professional development through leadership conferences, and classroom settings, especially in the area of establishing and maintaining professional boundaries.
From there, it blossomed into workshops and orator programs that center on social justice. Eventually, I added coaching services for relationships and mindset regulation.

My Credentials
My Credentials
My educational journey as a student has taken me from junior college to Bible to college. I finished my undergraduate course at Sioux Falls College, now the University of Sioux Falls (1987). I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
After raising my children, I went to graduate school at the North American Baptist Seminary, now the Sioux Falls Seminary, where I completed a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling with special emphasis on marriage and family therapy (2004). From there, I completed my educational journey with a Ph.D. in Psychology from Capella University, (2012).

As the CEO of The RD Duncan Institute for Professional Development, LLC, I provide instruction in the areas of classroom management, poverty, race relationships, power, and privilege and their impact on our society at large. In addition, I conduct community conversations primarily in the areas of racism and social justice.
I am a licensed and ordained minister, a certified relationship coach, a certified life coach/ mindset regulation coach, and an adjunct professor of general psychology, psychology in the workplace, human relations for educators, and multiculturalism for criminal justice/law enforcement students.

I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Linda. Together, we have six adult children and 14 granddaughters and 6 grandsons. Some of my hobbies include, experimental cooking, travelling, amateur photography and reading.
